Colourful, swirling cloud bands dominate Jupiter's southern hemisphere in this image from NASA's Juno spacecraft.

Jupiter appears as a tapestry of vivid cloud bands and storms. The dark region at far left is called the South Temperate Belt. The band is threaded by a ghostly white undulating structure of coiling clouds. This is the largest feature in Jupiter's low latitudes — a cyclone.

This image was taken during Juno's tenth close flyby of Jupiter, when the spacecraft was approximately 13,604 kilometres above the planet's cloud tops.
