This image of Jupiter's southern hemisphere was taken by NASA's Juno spacecraft on its return journey from a close flyby of the gas giant planet.
The image was captured during the 13th close flyby of Jupiter. At that time, Juno was approximately 71,400 kilometres from the planet's cloud tops.
JunoCam uses Juno's unique polar orbit to study the atmospheric dynamics and clouds right up to Jupiter's poles — something no spacecraft had done before.
